Privacy Policy

Sable Audio ("we", "us") operates the Sable Audio website, the Sable Audio Artist Hub mobile app, and the Sable Audio recording and rehearsal studio. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over your data.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information: your name, email, handle, artist/band name, bio, location and profile photo.
  • Content you post: music and audio you upload, forum and blog posts, event listings, and messages you send through the contact form.
  • Booking & calendar data: the rehearsal and studio slots you request or have approved, and (only with your permission) calendar entries added to your device calendar.
  • Media: photos and audio captured or uploaded from your device, including via the in-app camera.
  • Device & notifications: a device token used to deliver push notifications about booking approvals, band requests and community activity.

2. How we use your information

  • To create and manage your account and profile.
  • To schedule and confirm studio and rehearsal bookings, and to show who is using a space on the shared calendar.
  • To run the community board, artist directory, band pages and events.
  • To send you push notifications and emails about bookings, band membership requests, and content that needs moderation.
  • To respond to support and contact-form messages.

3. Sign-in providers

You can sign in with an email and password, or with Google or Apple ("Sign in with Apple"). When you use a social provider, we receive only the identifier, name and email needed to operate your account. We do not post to your account on your behalf.

If you use Sign in with Apple, you may hide your email; we will use the private relay address Apple provides to reach you about your account and bookings.

4. Camera, microphone and calendar

The app may request access to your device camera so you can upload or reposition profile, band and event photos. Audio you share is uploaded by your explicit action, never recorded in the background.

With your permission, the app can write confirmed bookings and events to your device calendar so you receive reminders. The app only adds entries you choose; it does not read or share your personal calendar.

5. Push notifications

We use a device token to deliver push notifications (for example, when a booking is approved or a band asks you to join). You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings, and the token is removed when you sign out or delete your account.

6. Sharing and visibility

Your public profile, music, band membership and approved bookings are visible to other members and (where you choose) the public. Booking calendar entries show the band or artist using a space so others can see who is booked. Staff contact details are only shown for approved team members. We never sell your data.

We share personal data only with these categories of recipients:

  • Service providers that host and run the app (cloud hosting, storage, email and push notification delivery).
  • Our Merchant of Record, Paddle.com, which sells storage plans on our behalf and handles subscription management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing. Payment details are collected directly by Paddle.
  • Professional advisers such as accountants and lawyers.
  • Authorities, where required by law.

Data controller and legal basis

Sable Audio is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. We process your data to perform our contract with you (running your account, bookings, storage and messaging), for our legitimate interests (keeping the Service secure, preventing abuse and improving it), with your consent (for example push notifications and device calendar access), and to meet legal obligations.

We also collect basic usage and device information (such as IP address, browser or device type and log data) to keep the Service secure and working. We use only essential cookies and local storage needed for sign-in and remembering your preferences; we do not use advertising cookies.

We protect your data with appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls and private file storage.

7. Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Bookings and events are retained for scheduling history. Forum posts and replies remain visible until you or an admin removes them.

8. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from Me → Delete account in the app, or from Edit profile → Danger zone on the website. Deleting your account removes your sign-in, profile, bookings, events, tracks, forum posts and replies, and band memberships. Some anonymized records (for example past booking counts) may remain for accounting.

To request data export or deletion without using the app, contact hello@sableaudio.com.

9. Children's privacy

The studio and app are intended for musicians aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16; if you believe a minor has registered, contact us and we will remove the account.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete your personal data, and to opt out of certain marketing. To exercise these rights, use the in-app deletion tools or email us.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.

12. Contact

Questions about this policy or your data? Email hello@sableaudio.com or use the contact page.
